Hey Maine, Here’s Why Some Of Your YouTube TV Channels Are Missing
Despite the fact that the price has steadily increased over the last few years, I still see a lot of value in YouTube TV.
The service allows you to stream live TV, watched DVR'd content, and even search some items preloaded into a library. One of the biggest benefits is the flexibility of the service. While you can easily stream content to a TV, you can also use it on a laptop, tablet, or even your phone.
When you launched YouTube TV this morning you may have noticed you were missing a few channels.
We now know why that is the case.
If you went to fire up YouTube TV today and noticed Mickey and friends are missing, you are not imagining things.
According to an article on the WABI website, Disney’s channels have vanished from the platform after both sides could not lock in a new agreement before the clock hit midnight.
That means no ESPN, no ABC, no Disney Channel. FX, National Geographic, and Freeform are out too. If you were getting ready for football, kids’ shows, or your favorite drama, you might be out of luck for a bit.
Both companies say they are still talking, but no word on when everything will be back.
Honestly, YouTube TV subscribers probably saw this coming. For the last week, pop up messages have been warning of a possible standoff.
And Disney has been doing the same thing. Since last Thursday, viewers have been getting alerts about the chance of a blackout.
For now, it is a waiting game. Stay tuned (well, too non-Disney channels, at least).
When we learn more about the situation, we will pass the information on to you.
