Families in the Augusta area will have an opportunity to enjoy a day outdoors at the Whimsical Forest Adventure on Saturday, June 6, at Viles Arboretum. Organized by the Children's Discovery Museum, the event is designed to encourage children and families to explore nature through creative and interactive activities in a relaxed setting.

The event will feature a variety of activities, including a gnome hunt, fairy wing crafts, face painting, arts and crafts, and other hands-on experiences. Live music will be featured throughout the day, while local vendors and food trucks will offer additional entertainment and refreshments for visitors. Set among the trails and gardens of Viles Arboretum, the event combines outdoor recreation with imaginative play, making it accessible to children of different ages and interests.

One of the event’s most appealing aspects is that it is free to attend, with only a suggested donation for those who wish to contribute. This allows families to enjoy a day of activities without the cost often associated with larger events. This year they are adding an Enchanted Goody Bag, which may include items such as fairy wings, masks, wands, stickers, and temporary tattoos.

As summer events begin to fill local calendars, the Whimsical Forest Adventure offers a simple way for families to spend time together outdoors while enjoying creativity, music, and community in one of Augusta’s most scenic locations.
