Don’t Miss This Epic Maine Gala That Supports Essential Service Dogs

Many years ago, Christy Gardner, while working as a Sergeant in the United States Army Military Police in Asia, she suffered irreparable injuries that eventually led to losing both of her legs.

Since then, Christy has overcome incredible obstacles and odds with the help of her golden retriever service dogs, the first of which was Moxie. Though Moxie is no longer with us, the inspiration that Moxie brought to this incredible mission lives on.

Christy has since founded Mission Working Dogs, a Maine-based organization that specializes in the training both service and therapy golden retrievers for those that need them most.

How did this all come to be?

Christy, as you might imagine, has a soft spot for veterans and need and much of her mission supports pairing former military personnel with their four-legged soulmate and service animal.

Her sprawling state-of-the-art facility set in Oxford Maine includes multiple training areas as well as several perfectly appointed four-season cabins so that new clients can come spend weeks at a time working with their soon-to-be new service pup.

We recently had the chance to go out and visit Christy, her team and of course all the adorable puppy dogs that she cares so deeply for. Christy has been doing this for years and as the mission grows, so too does the need for community support.

That's why Mission Working Dogs is formally inviting you to attend their 4th annual Mission Working Dogs Gala. Powered by Unum, this event will take place on Saturday, April 26th at Granite Ridge Estate in Norway.
