This is something so sweet offered for all local Maine musicians. So put your guitar down for a moment and listen up!

According to Maine Biz, the Equal Measure Arts, a nonprofit founded by Falmouth’s Monaco Studios, was recently launched.

And the goal?

To make professional studio recording available to students and under-resourced musicians! This is for those amazingly talented, starving artists who have the talent but not the resources to record.

Sam Monaco is the studio’s owner and longtime local musician. As per the report, Sam is super passionate about paying it forward.

He says,

“Growing up in Portland as a musician, having access to a space like Monaco Studios would’ve been a total game-changer. That’s exactly what I want to offer to the next generation of artists.”

This effort is going to help so many talented artist be heard.

Monaco Studios is located at 6 Babbidge road in Falmouth in this cool restored farmhouse. Even better, it is fully powered by solar energy!

According to MaineBiz, since 2020 this creative space has produced over 50 songs, pulling in 120,000 Spotify streams.

The studio also offers student discounts, internships for high schoolers, and learning opportunities for young musicians to help with their craft.

Monaco’s studio has also hosted live performances like the intimate Salon Night series and supported local radio through WMPG’s Local Motives, where Monaco serves as a host. Check them out on Facebook!

Equal Measure Arts, plans to start giving studio scholarships in 2025!

“We believe a strong, vibrant community requires diverse voices, Our goal is to make sure those voices have the tools they need to be heard.”

So, whether you’re an artist or someone who simply loves the idea of empowering Maine’s creative community, this nonprofit is a call to action for all!
