A beach in Maine has recently been named alongside beaches in Hawaii, Florida, and the Carolinas as one of the most beautiful in the country!

Really, this should come as no surprise—our Pine Tree State is, and we’ll admit we’re a little biased, absolutely gorgeous. So, of course, one of our beaches is being named among the most beautiful in the country.

That said, how does one even decide what makes one beach more beautiful than another? It’s inherently subjective, right?

To highlight the best spots for soaking up the summer sun, Condé Nast Traveler compiled a list of 29 of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S., showcasing the country’s diverse coastlines—from quiet, secluded shores to lively boardwalks. Whatever you’re looking for, their selections reflect a wide range of beach experiences across different landscapes and ecosystems.

So, with that in mind, which beach in Maine was recently named among the most beautiful beaches in America?

According to Condé Nast Traveler and their 2025 report highlighting ‘The Most Beautiful Beaches in the U.S.,’ Sand Beach in Acadia National Park made the list. Condé Nast Traveler had the following to say about their selection:

It may only be 290 yards long, but what Acadia National Park’s Sand Beach lacks in size it more than makes up for in beauty. Nestled between two mountains, the beach is the perfect spot to explore after an early breakfast in Bar Harbor.

And there you have it—Sand Beach in Acadia National Park is, without even being biased, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. But honestly, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
