During a time when the world can feel pretty heavy, one act of simple kindness can turn everything around.

A small miracle took place recently at the Food City in Lisbon, Maine and it reminds us that there is still so much overflowing good in people everywhere.

A local granddaughter shared a plea in a Lewiston area Facebook group, saying thank you to one person who performed a small but very powerful gesture towards her Pepé .

Her Pepé was having a tough time checking out at the store saying,

“When he went to pay he used the wrong card at first and my Pepé asked the cashier to help him grab the right card from his wallet.

She helped him get the card, but then he forgot his PIN for that card. My Pepé went to get another form of payment from in his car, and told the cashier he'd be right back to pay for it. When my Pepé was walking back into the store the man that was behind him in line was waiting for him with the bag of groceries.”

When he returned the man behind him in line bought his groceries for him, not with pity or judgment but with pure kindness, love and compassion.

He then handed the groceries to the man, had a nice chat and left.

A Simple Act of Kindness in Lisbon That Touched an Entire Community

His granddaughter went on to say, “My Pepé is very old and is currently having a hard time seeing that there's still good out in this world... your kindness brought him to tears."

Thank you so much for spreading kindness, even if it's $20 of groceries. You made both of our nights and thank you so much.”

This simple Facebook post has now reached almost 2k reactions.

Everyone is celebrating this quiet act of kindness. Whether the gentlemen sees this or not, I hope he know this gesture impacted so many people.
