Corey Masterson sent me these photos of a barred owl, one of the most common owls in Maine, next to the great horned owl. Like every species in the wild, they hunt for their food. This Maine barred owl managed to catch a snake and a mouse and has them clutched in its sharp talons while perched up in the trees.

That'll be one tasty meal for the owl.
