24 Hours. 24 Plunges. One Epic Cause in Ogunquit Maine
There are fundraisers.. and then, there's the Super Plunge. It's happening March 21-22 in Ogunquit and it's bigger and better then ever.
If you've never heard of the Super Plunge for Special Olympics Maine, it's easily one of the most down right intense, jaw dropping, and inspiring events you'll witness.
It's like these guys took an icy plunge and asked, "how can we make this event even more intense?"
Then answered with, "let's totally jump in the freezing cold water, every hour on the hour for 24 hours straight. Yeah, sounds about right."
These are the coolest people you will probably ever meet and they will be running into the ocean every hour, on purpose. The best purpose. All for the athletes of Special Olympics Maine.
It's set at the Norseman Resort, plunging for a cause every hour.
24 plunges in 24 hours.
Law Enforcement officers run from the resort straight into the icy Atlantis Ocean, even overnight, pushing their limits to support thousands of athletes across the state of Maine.
And the best part is that you can show up and bare witness to their greatness. Spectators are encourages to cheer them on.
Bundle up, bring your energy for them and prepare to cheer everyone on in their magical madness.
Among them is Ashley Wade, Ogunquit's Deputy Chief of Police and I've seen her drive and commitment for these athletes up close, let me tell you, it's deeply impactful and beautiful. Her ability to never waver in her mission to protect, support, and help is fierce.
Because each and every freezing run into that ocean represents something bigger than all of us, inclusion, support, and love.
