Rolling into Flavor: Maine’s Newest Food Truck Park Debuts in Biddeford
Portland most certainly holds the title of Maine's best foodie city. However, a city further south has been nipping at its heels over the last few years.
That city is Biddeford—a town that has undergone some of the most significant revitalization in the state over the past few decades. And with that transformation, the food scene has absolutely taken off.
Biddeford is One of Maine's Best Food Cities
In recent years, Biddeford has welcomed a wave of new restaurants and breweries, all earning rave reviews and enjoying impressive success. It was even named one of the "next best food cities" by Food & Wine and was featured on the Maine episode of Somebody Feed Phil.
So, it only makes sense that the city would continue expanding its foodie culture—and that's exactly what's happening with the recent opening of Biddeford’s first-ever food truck park.
Biddeford's Food Truck Park is Open for Business
According to Saco Bay News, The Lot is officially open for business. Located at 64 Alfred Street, The Lot offers Biddeford diners a chance to enjoy a diverse lineup of cuisine right in the heart of the downtown district.
The space is perfectly situated for diners to grab some food to either take home or enjoy right on site in the charming and hip dining area.
Food trucks have become all the rage here in Maine, and it’s great to see more towns starting to embrace dedicated areas for them to operate. It means more cuisine for people to enjoy, while also giving small businesses the opportunity to grow and succeed.
The Lot is also located in a great neighborhood—close to several iconic food spots like Pizza by Alex, Ore Nell’s BBQ, Palace Diner, Sacred Profane, and Catface Café, just to name a few.
The Lot in Biddeford is Open for Business
The Lot plans to be open Wednesday through Monday, from 8 a.m. until midnight, and will be closed on Tuesdays. You can check out the food truck schedule on their website, which lists which trucks will be there each day. Many of them rotate, and I’d imagine that lineup will only grow over time.
