There are several restaurants throughout southern Maine that have become synonymous with a certain type of food.

Sometimes that's because what they serve is so outlandishly good. Sometimes it's because the service is elite. Sometimes it's longevity. Often times, it's a mix of all of those things.

One of the restaurants in southern Maine that has become synonymous with brunch is Brea Lu Cafe in Westbrook, Maine. The restaurant has been around for nearly 40 years and now is on the search for its next owner.

The listing says the current owner is a motivated seller in hopes of finding a new owner for the longtime brunch cafe by the end of the year.

The listing is strictly for the business and not for the real estate that Brea Lu Cafe currently operates in. The price does include all of the fixtures, furniture and equipment purchased by the current owner of Brea Lu Cafe.

Brea Lu Cafe Has Been Around Maine Since 1989

According to the Portland Press Herald, Brea Lu Cafe originally opened at 428 Forest Avenue in Portland, Maine, back in 1989.

Brea Lu operated in that same location for 27 years before a Valentine's Day fire put the business and that location in jeopardy.

Brea Lu Cafe eventually moved to 9 Cumberland Street in Westbrook, Maine, and operated there for several years before landing on its current location at 511 Main Street in Westbrook.

People who frequently visited the cafe in Portland still make the trek to Westbrook regularly to grab their Brea Lu favorites.
