New Comedy Club Opening in Old Orchard Beach, Maine

It's about that time of the year when many seasonal towns throughout Maine come back to life.

One of those towns is Old Orchard Beach, where the month of May generally means that restaurants, shops and entertainment venues end their winter-long slumber and prepare to welcome crowds back to the bustling beach town.

Each year in Old Orchard Beach, there's always something new. Whether that be a new ride to discover at Palace Playland or a new restaurant or shop that replaced something else.

For the 2026 season, there's going to be something new that hopes to make visitors laugh. A lot.

Flip Flops Comedy Club to Open in Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Located at 40 Old Orchard Street, there's a new comedy club coming to Old Orchard Beach this spring and summer.

Fittingly, it'll be called Flip Flops. The comedy club will operate the top of the hill on the main drag in OOB and plans to welcome guests to the space with a pair of free shows on Saturday, May 9.

When tourism season heats up, Flip Flops plans to have comedy shows every night of the week except Mondays. Flip Flops will feature local and regional comedians to their intimate space throughout the summer.

Flips Flops official grand opening will be Friday, May 22.

A New Ride is Coming to Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Besides a new comedy club to entertain adults in Old Orchard Beach, you can expect to see a new roller coaster this summer at Palace Playland meant for the whole family.

The new ride is called Gold Rush, which is considered a speedy coaster with some playful hills and a smooth turns for a fun-filled mining trip with a million-dollar view.

The new coaster is expected to be ready when Palace Playland officially opens for the 2026 season.
