Tens of thousands of people pour into the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine each and every year for a variety of events. Whether that be live sporting events, concerts, comedy shows or special events.

But perhaps one of the most peculiar things about the Cross Insurance Arena has been the exterior of the building. The largest indoor arena in Maine underwent a 15-month long expansion and renovation that was completed a decade ago. But compared to other arenas, it seemed to be missing one key piece of marketing equipment. And that has finally changed.

If you plan on visiting the Cross Insurance Arena any time in the not-too-distant future, you won't be able to miss the new exterior additions to the building. A scrolling video board have been added to all the building to properly and more efficiently promote the events and activities happening inside.

Crews spent the day Tuesday installing the new video board near the Cross Insurance entrance. Both foot and vehicular traffic will now be reminded or introduced to the events happening at the arena including the upcoming visit from Jurassic Quest, Price is Right Live and a two-night stop from the national broadway tour 'Book of Mormon'.

The other major benefit of the new outdoor video boards will be to update potential visitors on sporting events. Whether that be high school competitions that are often quickly scheduled or playoff games for the Maine Mariners. Busy lives call for more reminders to slow down and enjoy things.
