While some homebuyers are looking for a brand-new build and the ability to customize their home, there are also plenty that are looking for a vintage home with a historic feel. The unique architecture is also a desired feature for a lot of homebuyers as they add unique character and charm.

Surprisingly, a lot of older homes were built with more durable materials, hence why these homes built in the 1600s are all considered to be in good condition. They have obviously been cared for and renovated to some extent over the years as well.

Realtor.com recently released the top five oldest homes currently on the market in the US, and four of them are right here in New England.

1224 Main St, Glastonbury, CT

1224 Main St, Glastonbury, CT, is the "newest" of the four. Listed by Debbie Bowles of William Raveis Real Estate, the 1,774-square-foot, two-bedroom, colonial-style home built in Bradford, Massachusetts, in 1682 was actually moved to its current location in Glastonbury in 1974. You will notice there has been some recent renovations. However, plenty of the original architecture is still in place.

661 Main St, Medfield, MA

Old, historic homes often have names attached to them. Welcome to the Lucy Bran House, located at 661 Main St in Medfield, MA. Like 1224 Main St, this home listed by Panepinto Realty Group is a three-bedroom and boasts 1,500 square feet of living space with plenty of renovations to support a more modern feel but without removing that rustic, historic vibe of a home built in 1670.

116 Spring St, Hull, MA

The listing by Leal Realty Group with KW Pinnacle Central states that this is the oldest home on the market in the town of Hull, MA. I'm assuming the listing agent was not aware at the time that it's actually the oldest home in the US currently for sale. Welcome to the Loring House at 116 Spring St. Among its original features are four fireplaces, wood paneling and floors, as well as beamed ceilings. This two-bedroom, 1.5-bath home features 1,700 square feet of living space and was built almost 400 years ago in 1633.
