It Appears That Oola Bowls Have Closed Both Maine Locations
Anyone who attempts to open a new business in Maine knows that the first few months can be the toughest.
That's especially true if you're attempting to offer a new service or product that is rarely seen in a marketplace. It takes patience and some really aggressive marketing to get people through the door and to fall in love with that you have to offer.
And then there's other times when you just throw your hands up and decide its not working.
That appears to be the case with both Oola Bowls locations in Maine which opened both locations late in 2025.
Oola Bowls in Westbrook and Portland, Maine, Appear to Have Closed
Starting at the beginning of June, the status of the Westbrook Oola Bowls location changed on Google. It was listed as "temporarily closed". Calls to the location have gone unanswered and the doors have been locked since.

The Google listing for the Portland Oola Bowls location still lists them as open. However, all online ordering has been disabled through the Oola Bowls app and attempts to call the location have gone unanswered.
The last post on the social media pages of the two locations was May 26.
Oola Bowls in Westbrook and Portland, Maine, Struggled With Speed
Without a definitive answer as to why both locations are either temporarily or permanently closed, there were warning signs of problems in the last several months.

Both locations struggled churning out orders quickly. In Portland, an app order of a bowl or smoothie promised a pickup within 30 minutes. It often took an hour for an order to be completed and a text alert to be sent out.
Staffing also seemed to be a concern. In Westbrook, Oola Bowls was going head-to-head with Playa Bowls at Rock Row. Playa Bowls often operated with as many as 3 or 4 staff members more than Oola Bowls allowing them to churn out orders faster and more efficiently.
