Best Espresso Martini on the Seacoast of Maine and New Hampshire According to Locals
As we do sometimes, I found myself scrolling through Facebook and came across the Seacoast Eats page and there was a post from one of the members that asked a good question.
Where can I get the best Espresso Martini in the Seacoast area?
The comments cited many Portsmouth restaurants like:
- CR's, Hampton, NH - A high end restaurant with an excellent bar
- Dufour Cocktails and Provisions, South Berwick, Maine - If you're going to have "cocktails" in the title of your restaurant, you better make a killer espresso martini and they do.
- Ember Wood Fired Grill, Dover, NH - A go-to place for the people here. Excellent martinis in general.
- Cafe Mediterraneo, Portsmouth, NH - Another fancy pants place, with an exceptional espresso martini

The Wilder, Portsmouth, NH
Here's what one person, Kayla, said,
I've been all over the world - I love to get a good espresso martini that's not overly sweet. I don't usually like cocktails on draft or batch cocktails, the The Wilder is the one exception. It's so good and never misses. One of my favorites throughout all my travels.
John had a similar sentiment in his comment:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the draft espresso martini at The Wilder.
All these comment about the Wilder stood out to me because I can personally attest to the excellent espresso martinis at the Wilder myself. They are friggin' delicious.
I don't know what a "draft" martini is, but I don't care and neither will you. It is the best.
There's nothing more disappointing than ordering one of those bad boys and then having it be too sweet or not sweet enough. I'd still drink it, mind you, but my heart would long for the martini perfection at the Wilder.
