New Hampshire’s Most Iconic Christmas Dish is Confusing at Best
There's something magical that happens this time of year when the holiday season is in full swing.
People all over are breaking out their fluffy blankets and settling down on the couch beside the Christmas tree, equipped with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Holiday carols are playing on repeat, evening drives come with a free serotonin boost from the twinkly lights illuminating the night sky, and stores are bustling with shoppers getting gifts for their loved ones.
When the time comes to sit down for Christmas dinner with your loved ones, lots of quintessential holiday dishes will likely make an appearance at the table. But of all these foods, which one is the most iconic Christmas dish in your state? The food-focused website Delish decided to find out, and their verdict for New Hampshire is confusing at best: pumpkin pie.
Before we elaborate any further, please don't shoot the messenger. Yours truly is the biggest pumpkin pie fan you'll ever meet, and absolutely loves it.
But let's be real: it's a fall dessert.
Sure, your typical Christmas dinner already resembles a Thanksgiving feast thanks to the typical incorporation of poultry, vegetables, rolls, etc. But not pumpkin. Pumpkin is a seasonal fall emblem, and that's part of what makes it so special.
What do you think? Is pumpkin pie worthy of being New Hampshire's most iconic Christmas dish, or should the title go to something else? Let us know your thoughts.
