Words can't describe how much our pets mean to us.

They're our best friends, close companions, and often (scratch that, always) better listeners than people. A pet brings so much joy to your life, enriching it for the better.

With that said, the New Hampshire SPCA needs your help.

The Stratham animal shelter shared this post to Facebook, explaining that they recently took in a staggering 54 goats after assisting the Lee Police Department with a search warrant on a farm. Sadly, these innocent animals were found in appalling, filthy, and unsanitary living conditions, and their extraction (and eventual surrender) was necessary for their health and wellbeing.

Now, according to WMUR, these goats – including newborns and pregnant females – are being nursed back to health. Many were suffering from dehydration, emaciation, parasites, and issues walking (due to a condition called CAE), so it will sadly be a long road to recovery.

The SPCA has shared several ways you can help these animals. Firstly, you can donate to the SOS fund, which goes towards victims of animal cruelty and neglect. You can also click here to access an Amazon wish list filled with items needed for both the goats and the other 260+ animals in the shelter's care.

Oh, and one more thing. We wanted to give a quick shoutout to all the hardworking shelter staff and volunteers for taking care of these sweet animals. The work they do is unmatched, and they deserve the best.
