
Remember Six Gun City in Jefferson, New Hampshire? These 19 Nostalgic Memories Will Take You Straight Back
If you grew up in New England, there's a good chance you made the trip to Six Gun City in Jefferson, New Hampshire.
The Western-themed amusement park was the site of cowboy shoot-outs on Main Street, the chance to pan for gold, or even get tossed in jail and make an escape.
Sadly, the once-popular place is now closed, but the memories remain. No, they weren't just a dream.
What Year Did Six Gun City in New Hampshire close?
According to Legends of America, Six Gun City in Jefferson opened in the 1950s and entertained guests with gun fights, pony rides and more.
WMUR stated that the Western-themed park in New Hampshire added things like water rides, Norwegian Fjord horses, laser tag, go-karts, and the "Gold Rush Express" runaway train roller coaster over the years.
Using the Wayback Machine, you can peek into the past at what the website for the park looked like. Boy, it's a real blast into the past.
One iteration of it in 2000 describes Six Gun City and the things you can do there:
"Ya want to be sure ta see the Frontier Show where you'll hear some wilderness stories an' witness the loadin' an' firin' of a muzzle loader. Six Gun City contains over 35 buildin's includin' a Church, School, Teacher's Cabin, Blacksmith Shop, an' more. Ya be sure to visit the Homestead, Indian Camp, an' stroll the boardwalks of Main Street with the Tradin' Post, Assay Office, Bank, an' Jail. Take a walk on Pioneer Street where ya see the Carriage an' Sleigh Museums. Six Gun City has over 100 horse-drawn vehicles an' countless antiques on display. This magnificent collection is one of the largest in the Northeast."

Six Gun City closed in 2014, ending a nearly 60-year run.
Do You Remember Six Gun City in New Hampshire?
Many of you may have been lucky enough to visit the kid-friendly western theme park at one point while it was open.
Some of you even have distinct memories of the echoing gunshots as cowboys faced off with each other, or the sound of screams as people rode the roller coaster, or seeing the antique carriages that offered a glimpse into the past.
Someone who used to work there took to Reddit wanting to reminisce about Six Gun City, and the comments did not disappoint.

You can still see the sign if you drive by and some of the buildings out front, but they now look rundown and faded, simply a reminder of what once was.
