J.J. Abrams Confirms Star Wars: The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer on Friday
I am now officially giddy with excitement. J.J. Abrams, the director of the new Star Wars film The Force Awakens confirmed today on Twitter that a teaser trailer will be in select theaters this Friday.
What will I be thankful for this Friday? If one of those select theaters is nearby!
As his note says the entire trailer is only 88 seconds long and that probably included a lot of titles like the studio logos, but I'll take it!
We'll also be able to find out if that animated GIF floating around the internet of the Millennium Falcon flying at the camera is really in the trailer. If you want to stay spoiler free, you should avoid looking at it just in case. I think it's fake anyway and I explain why in a link to a previous post below.
I'll keep you updated if and when I find out where the trailer might be playing locally and with what film. Did I mention I'm giddy? Woo hoo!!!
UPDATE: Well bad news for Star Wars fans in Maine. The official Star Wars website has now released the theaters that will be showing the teaser trailer this weekend and none of them are in Maine. It's only in major cities. Big mistake for Disney. They're just asking for it to be pirated with a shaky cell phone and distributed all over the internet. Let's hope they change their minds before Friday.
