Krispy Kreme in Saco and Auburn Have Closed

After just two and a half years since opening, Krispy Kreme in Saco and Auburn have closed their doors.
According to Saco Bay News, the store that opened in October of 2017 to the excitement of people living in southern Maine, had moving trucks emptying the store out on Tuesday and the Krispy Kreme sign with its neon "Hot Now" light taken down.
The same thing happened today at the Krispy Kreme on Center Street in Auburn. Alan Plummer sent us these photos that he took when he pulled in to grab some donuts.
After all the excitement Mainers had to hear that Krispy Kreme was coming to Maine, it's sad that these locations couldn't make a go of it. These are crazy times right now, so I guess we need to expect the unexpected.
