L.L. Bean Does Away With Unlimited Lifetime Returns
It's the end of an era for L.L. Bean customers.
According to the Press Herald, you can no longer return your decade old boots or garments for brand new items.
Company execs say too many customers abused the policy. L.L. Bean used to take back just about any return in exchange for brand new items of the same product, or a store gift card, but that won't be the case anymore. Bummer.
L.L. Bean says it will only accept returns of items purchased within the previous 12 months or that have a manufacturing defect.
They also now have a new proof of purchase requirement for items that are more than four yeas old.
