I loved everything about my dinner.

First, if you couldn't guess from the picture, I had dinner for the first time at DaVinci's on Mill Street in Lewiston. I've had this on my radar to go to since they voluntarily closed earlier this year because of a customer complaint. I loved how they handled that tough situation. Plus, I've had Lewiston on my mind since October's tragedy, and I want to get up there more often.

Wait, did DaVinci's in Lewiston, Maine get rid of their famous garlic knots?

I was the first to arrive and I was studying the menu. I thought I'd order the garlic knots I've heard so much about and a salad. But I couldn't find the garlic knots anywhere on the menu. When my friends arrived, I was in a panic! Where were the garlic knots? They aren't on the menu, because they are free and come to the table when you order. What? Something free at a restaurant? Trust me, that is unheard of these days. Especially something so damn comforting and delicious! Right out of the gate, I was a happy camper!

Why was DaVinci's in Lewiston, Maine such a great experience?

It was pretty much everything, from the location and brick interior to our server, to the food. It reminded me of how restaurants used to be. I could hear my friend's conversation during dinner. The table was big enough so that we all had plenty of room for all the food, and I didn't feel cramped. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. And the garlic knots were free! The Cobb salad is a must! Last, but not least, it was amazingly affordable! Not one item on the menu made me shriek because of the price. Plus, you get plenty of food! There were leftovers!

Our server at DaVinci's in Lewiston, Maine was simply the best

Sam (Samantha) was our server and she was great. From calming me down when I thought the garlic knots had vanished, to helping us split our entrees, to bringing us to-go containers and a paper bag with a handle! When was the last time you went out to eat and had a paper bag with a handle to carry leftovers home? Super old school, and I loved it.

I loved everything about my night out. I'm sure I'm not the only one with that experience, but if you haven't been and you miss the way restaurants used to be, head to DaVinci's on Mill Street in Lewiston, Maine.
