Maine Jeopardy! Contestant’s Mistake Helps Local Charity
Remember when Jessica Garsed, the librarian from Augusta, was on Jeopardy!? Well, a wrong answer just helped the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor.
WMTW reports that Jessica won 53,000 dollars on her 4 days of Jeopardy! She lost on her fourth night. At one point, she answered Omaha Steaks, but she forgot the 's' and was docked $1600 because of that 's'!
Omaha Steaks got a hold of Jessica and asked her to pick a charity and they would make a donation of 1600 dollars! How cool. Jessica picked the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine, with the money going specifically to the Bangor location.
That is the best! I know that Jessica, and the rest of America will never forget that they don't just have one steak, but that Omaha is filled with lots of steak's'. Thanks for turning a negative into a positive that helps Mainers. If only all of our flubs could help out our favorite charity.
