Back in the 1970s and 1980s, in the days when we all had corded home phones, there was a strange fad.  People owned phones that were shaped like other things.  There were phones shaped like cats, phones shaped like like Mickey Mouse, like lips (yes, bright red lips), like footballs, and countless other objects that have nothing to do with phones.

Because I was a nerdy child, my first phone was a "starship phone".  It was shaped like a flying saucer and light up when someone called.

Not surprisingly, some of these phones are now collectors items.  This is especially true if they are in good shape.

Recently, someone named Steve Fontaine made a post on the Uncle Henry Buy Swap Sell Group on Facebook selling a hamburger phone.

Take a look

In the post, he says the phone is:

Mint condition with box. Zero 900-line hours and original felt/pleather feet that will not scratch the surface of your mid-century coloniawful side table. This unit has the pulse/tone (dealer option). So crack open a Zima, a Bartles and James or perhaps a bottle of Boones Farm and call the whole family like it’s 1993 on this fabulous hamburger phone.

Currently, it is priced at $69.  The seller lists his location as Naples, Maine, but it looks like he is willing to ship it for a nominal fee.
