Maine Puppy Found with Mouth Bound Shut Needs Your Help

Remember this pup? Blue, a young pit bull puppy, was found in the western mountains of Maine in 2015 with severe injury to his muzzle likely caused by a case of abuse that involved his mouth being bound shut. He was treated by Bethel Animal Hospital and has since been adopted into a forever home where he is loved and cared for in the way he deserves.

Blue was recently diagnosed with an orthopedic problem called Medial Compartment Disease with fissuring of the coronoid process in both elbows. Blue's family says, "This is linked to his stocky breed and has required surgery. He's currently being treated by a specialist and is recovering from his recent surgery. It is highly likely that further surgical procedures will be necessary."

I've seen first hand how much Blue loves to run and play. This condition has the potential to hold him back from living the adventurous life he loves, but surgery can help him live a full life. However, the surgery is impacting Blue's family, too, as the cost is creating some financial strain.
