These 7 Maine Restaurants Sadly Closed in November 2025

I can't imagine trying to run a restaurant and juggling all the different variables and challenges that come with it.

It's a tough business, so kudos to those who give it a shot and those who continue to find success.

Unfortunately, some places eventually close their doors due to multiple factors, much like the handful of Maine restaurants that ended their run in November.

What Maine Restaurants Closed in November 2025?

Ruby Tuesday saw two of its Maine restaurants close their doors for good in November, leaving only one location for the national chain in the state.

That would be in Waterville.

It's wild to think that almost 10 years ago, there were eight Ruby Tuesday locations in Maine. According to the Bangor Daily News, early 2016 had spots in Bangor, Brewer, Waterville, Augusta, Auburn, Topsham, Westbrook, and Presque Isle.

Times certainly change.

Then there are places that have only been around a few years, like Bar Futo in Portland, announcing their closure on Facebook in October.

The Japanese-inspired restaurant, which opened its doors in 2022, said, "We are beyond grateful to our hardworking, dedicated, and creative team who brought Bar Futo to life. We have had a lot of fun in this space, hosted many pop-ups, and learned a lot along the way."

Silver lining for this spot, though, is the hint that there may be something coming for that space in the winter.

That's just a sample of some of the spots that closed their doors in November. Let's take a look at some of the others.
