2024 may have been the end for a number of Maine restaurants, but it also proved to be a year of beginnings as well.

Across the state, cafes, breweries, steakhouses, pubs, and various other eateries opened their doors to welcome customers for the first time.

Maine Restaurants Open 2024

One place that has already had its one-year anniversary is Double Great Coffee on Congress Street in Portland.

According to Portland Food Map, the coffee shop opened in early January 2024 and serves up coffee, teas and baked goods.

Then there's Low Stakes Lodge, which, according to an Instagram post, opened in late June 2024 in Portland.

The steakhouse gives off Bugaboo Creek vibes with its stuffed raccoon and moving moose head on the wall. The place is definitely a fan of the colors red and black.

More recently, Apero in Biddeford announced on Instagram that it was opening in early December 2024.

You can enjoy fancy, fun cocktails and drinks and some charcuterie in the upscale bar.
