Maine’s Camp Sunshine to Benefit From Star Trek Walk-On Role Contest

The cast of Star Trek have each chosen their favorite charities to benefit from a walk-on role contest for the next Star Trek movie, and one cast member chose Camp Sunshine right here in Maine. 

The next movie in the Star Trek franchise is called Star Trek Beyond and is in production now. For $10, fans can enter for a chance to win a walk-on role in the new movie.

All of the cast members chose a global charity that they hold dear and Anton Yelchin, who plays Chekov, chose Camp Sunshine in Casco as his charity. As you probably know, Camp Sunshine is for children with life threatening illnesses and their families and people from all over the world have had a chance to forget their illnesses and have fun thanks to this wonderful organization.

The video promoting the contest is pretty funny too. The cast trades jabs at each other while explaining the contest and even breaks out into a dance party on the bridge of the Enterprise at the end. (Simon Pegg steals the show, by the way)
