It started in a Maine woman's kitchen when her friends and family called her homemade whoopie pies "wicked." 29 years later, her company makes 10,000 whoopie pies a day.

Amy Bouchard is the president and owner of Wicked Whoopies and has turned her love of baking into an extremely successful business that has people placing orders from across the country with a little help from Oprah Winfrey who featured them on her show.

From there, Wicked Whoopies got covered by other major media outlets including Good Morning America, Rachel Ray, Food Network, and Boston's Phantom Gourmet.

Suddenly, Wicked Whoopie's was on the map and the business started to grow fast.

Today, Wicked Whoopies are made at their bakery in Gardiner by a whole team of bakers, creating whoopie flavors like red velvet, peanut butter, chocolate chip, pumpkin, vanilla bean, maple, gingerbread, mint, and strawberry. That's not even all of them!

People can order Wicked Whoopies online, there is a Wicked Whoopies retail store in Freeport and you can find them in local stores all over Maine and the entire country.

To celebrate 29 years in business, Wicked Whoopies is giving 29 people a dozen Wicked Whoopies on their Facebook page.

Some of the most successful businesses in the world started with an idea that happened in someone's own kitchen, basement, or garage. Amy Bouchard is one of those who turned her creation in her kitchen into something that people from all over the country are wanting to get their hands on.
