Melvin and Doris have been married for 60 years and live in Arkansas. Melvin was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease three years ago, and ever since, it's been very tough on Doris.

Melvin often forgets things and cannot be escorted without help. He cannot remember who proposed to who (he proposed to Doris).

Melvin went missing the day before Mother's Day. His wife was so distraught and called the police. He was found two miles from their house. He was on his way to the grocery store to get his wife flowers for Mother's Day, something he had done since the birth of their first child.

For some reason, Melvin remembered to do this. Police tried to bring him home, but he wanted nothing to do with that until he got his flowers. So, they brought him to the store and Melvin got Doris roses.

Doris said it best, "Even if the mind forgets, the heart remembers..." Now that's love.
