Some nurses from Arizona had a double dip of serendipity when they ran into business mogul and media personality Martha Stewart not once, but twice, during their visit to Maine.

Can you imagine having the surreal moment of spotting someone famous and then, by some stroke of fate, winding up at the same place later, in a town over?

As Stewart would say, it’s a good thing.

The First Martha Stewart Encounter at a Maine Antique Store

In a Facebook post, Stewart shared how three Arizona nurses visiting Maine recognized her when they were at Two Old Goats Antiques, just outside of Ellsworth.

She's a big fan of the antiquing adventure, too. In a 2001 Vanity Fair profile, Stewart talked about using her helicopter to travel to Maine, saying she could “stop on the way in southern Maine and go antiquing.” (Sounds like a pretty sweet deal!)

More recently, she wrote in her blog about The York Antiques Gallery in Maine, saying that antique shopping is “a great way to discover and appreciate one-of-a-kind pieces while learning about the history, craftsmanship, and stories behind them.”

So clearly those nurses got to see Stewart in her element. I wonder if she picked anything up to take home?

Martha Stewart Spotted Again at The Asticou Hotel in Northeast Harbor, Maine

But here's where the story takes a fun turn.

Stewart shared in her Facebook post that later in the day, she happened to see those same nurses at The Asticou Hotel in Northeast Harbor.

So of course a fantastic picture was taken of the moment with the nurses taking a playful pose above the booth that Stewart was sitting in. She said they got cocktails but did she make any recommendations?

What a story for them to tell when they get home. A double sighting of Martha Stewart on vacation!

Martha Stewart Has a House in Maine

Northeast Harbor is very close to where Stewart's Maine home is located on Mount Desert Island.

According to The Martha Blog, she purchased Skylands in 1997, a massive estate with ties to the Ford family. You know, Henry Ford? The Model T? That Ford family.

While most of her time is spent in New York, she does often visit Maine in the summer, so if you're hoping to see her when you're out and about, don't wait for the first snow!

It's no surprise that Stewart loves Maine. It is incredible.

And with her longtime connection to the state (and her frequent visits to local eateries), it's no surprise she'd be out and about enjoying the summer season.

But for those three nurses? It sure was a surprise to see her twice in one day and snag a photo with the icon.

Who knows? Maybe they'll bump into her on their next visit to Maine. It could happen.
