Needless to say, speeding tickets suck. We don't mean to speed most of the time, and if you're anything like me, you don't realize you're doing it until you see those blue lights behind you. Personally, I think any MPH over 75-80 is when you can consciously feel your vehicle moving fast. This guy almost doubled that in a car I've never known to even reach that level of speed without breaking.

Here's the story from WinIT.

"In 2016, a Maine State Police officer stopped a Dodge Neon going 146 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 95 close to Pittsfield," according to a WinIt article. "The 18-year-old driver was arrested and charged with criminal speeding and failure to provide proof of insurance and inspection."

If I had kids, I'd tell them how a mistake like this isn't worth the consequences. But since I don't have kids, I'm gonna tell you, yes you, that speeding doesn't make you cool. I completely understand what I call "accidental speeding", which is where you zone out a bit and have to reel yourself back in and slow down, but I've never "accidentally sped" double what this Maine cop found this dude doing.

What's the fastest issued speeding ticket in the world?

Good question. I'm glad I asked. According to Quora.com,

The fastest known speeding ticket was issued in May 2003 in Texas. The motorist was operating a Koenigseggs CCR, a Swedish sports car and was allegedly going 242 mph (389 km/hr) in a 75 mph zone. The driver was arrested and his sport car was towed.

I know, I know. This info is super interesting to look up and read about, but I'll leave you with this. Speeding kills. It's not cool, it doesn't make girls want you more, and you could ruin your life in a quick (literally) 20 seconds. Also, don't drink and drive. Mom talk over. Be safe.
