20 New England Places Named Among the 100 Best to Live on the East Coast
This makes sense to me. I feel like now more than ever, New England towns and cities have received honorable mentions on lists of the best places to live or vacation in. And the FW did exactly that. They've released a list of the top 100 best places to live, 20 of which are in New England. Here are a few that stuck out to me.
Cape Elizabeth, Maine
Population: 9,279
Speaking from experience, Cape Elizabeth almost feels like you're on vacation, even though it's one of the next towns over from Portland. Well, I guess the city of Portland also feels like a permanent vacation, which really just confirms this whole story.
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Population: 115,665
I've always loved Cambridge, mostly because it borders the famous Charles River where I used to run along and watch all the water sports practice on the weekends. I used to do radio out in Massachusetts, and my apartment was right in the center of Cambridge. It was always well-kept and felt very safe.
Newton, Massachusetts
Population: 88,660
Now Newton is one-of-a-kind. I also had an apartment here while in college, and it was one of Boston's wealthiest towns. You could just tell by the buildings, the cars, and the way it always felt kept.
