New General Manager at Sim-City Indoor Golf in Westbrook Has a Sordid Past
He worked with the likes of us!
You may know the name, Teddy McKay. He was the jock that for years came on after the Q Morning Show on Q97.9. I've known Teddy since about 1996, back when he started his radio career. But long before he was in radio, he was an Assistant PGA Professional at the Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, and Weston Hills Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He's now combining the two things he absolutely adores, spreading the word and golf. He's the new General Manager at Sim-City in Westbrook.
Brian Bickford, PGA, the co-owner of Sim-City had this to say about Teddy,
Teddy is the perfect fit for Sim-City. His experience in golf and marketing really sets him apart. We look forward to maximizing his expertise to grow our business.
If you aren't familiar with Sim-City, it's Maine's original full-service indoor golf center with 8 simulators and over 80 courses. They also have a full pub and restaurant menu. Plus they have Giffords Ice Cream. Teddy also loves ice cream and was probably behind a spring and summer Swings & Scoops promotion.
Teddy's goals for Sim-City are simple. To make it a destination for all golfing levels. Sim-City is a fun and interactive experience for beginners to the pros. Teddy is excited to plan events involving local nonprofits and neighboring businesses in the greater Westbrook area.
I would love to give Teddy the final word - but I'm not going to. I'm taking it. Because I need people to know that Teddy knows his stuff. He has a soft spot for radio, and radio will always have a soft spot for him - but he's truly a golf guy through to his bones. He's smart, funny, passionate and just a good guy and Sim-City made a smart choice for their new general manager. I can't wait to go!
