That Place in Ogunquit Server Gets Surprise $1,000 Tip in Maine
That Place in Ogunquit shared on Facebook the incredible story of "an extraordinary tip" for one of its staff and its profound thanks for the kind gesture.
The Ogunquit, Maine, restaurant said in the social media post: "Last night, one of our servers experienced something truly unexpected. A guest left an extraordinary tip along with a simple note. The amount was shocking, but what was even more memorable was the impact it had. For a young person working hard, going to school, and building a future, a gesture like this means more than words can say."
The server clearly did more than offer good service, likely creating a welcoming experience that led to what sounds like some fun football banter and a four-figure "thank you."
The playful note on the receipt, along with the generous $1,000, reads, "For the Patriots game in Germany. Go Lions!"
It seems like the two struck up a fun rapport about the November 2026 game between the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions in Germany, though the customer was not rooting for Drake Maye and the team.

For someone juggling school and a job, as the restaurant's post highlighted, this is a moment of true kindness that the server likely won't forget.
Kudos to that person, too, because the tip was definitely not a random act but rather a reflection of their hard work and character.
Hopefully, they get to go to that Germany game in the fall and see New England win. Go Patriots!
