On Father’s Day, I Found a 50-Year-Old Picture of Me and My Dad That Looked Similar To This One

Father's Day This year was my 14th as a dad but was the 50th for my own father. So I went back and looked at some old photos and found one that looks a lot like the one I took with my son Jake.

Shortly after Jake arrived home from the hospital this picture was taken of his sound asleep on my chest.

This was all new to me and I was afraid I would break the kid. He was sound asleep, but I was busy reading things on my laptop which you can see if you look closely, propped up on the arm of the chair and the table.

Earlier in the day, I had been looking through an old photo album and found a picture of me and my dad just after I had been born that had a lot of similarities to the one of me and Jake.

Swap the laptop for the newspaper and move the baby to the leg and these two pictures are pretty much the same. Many people have told me I look like my father, but have never seen it. But it does show in these pictures.

Not only that, could Jake as a baby and me as a baby look any more alike?

Today, Jake is as tall as I am, and probably the next time I see him will be taller. Having Jake this past weekend, both of us calling my dad and showing Jake these pictures made for the best Father's Day yet.
