The magical event, hosted by the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad,  takes passengers of all ages on a wonderfully decorated, historic train for a scenic ride along the waterfront to the North Pole.

You and the kids can wear your pajamas, sip on hot chocolate, and listen to a live storytelling of "The Polar Express" children's book from the conductors and staff, all in character costumes.

The Polar Express is getting an extended schedule with the earliest rides on November 16 and rides after Christmas on December 26 and 27.

Tickets for group sales of 18 or more start Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m., and general sales start Wednesday, July 23, at 10 a.m.
