Portland Will Hand Out Masks to Help Businesses Comply With New Mandate
Have you tried to buy masks? Not an easy task, so Portland is helping out.
According to the Portland Press Herald, Portland will hand out surgical masks to businesses in Portland starting today to help them keep up with the new mask mandate passed this week that says you must wear a mask inside.
Head to City Hall between 930 am and 3 pm today Thursday and then Tuesday, January, 11. You can also grab a window decal that says masks are required starting Tuesday for your business.
Since this is the city's way of helping with a new rule they passed, and not free masks for just anyone, staff will be there to get the name of the business you are grabbing masks for. You can get up to three boxes of masks. Next week's masks hand out on Tuesday will depend on what they have left for masks.
If you miss this free mask chance, public health staff will also hand out masks and the requirement decals at a pop-up at 39 Forest Avenue Wednesday, January 12 from 10 am to 4 pm. They will also have COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots and you won't need an appointment. You can make an appointment though, you just have to call 874-8982. Might be smart to make an appointment, waiting in line is the new normal these days.
Might want to grab those masks required decals Portland is offering, because you have until the 10th of January to post signs that masks are required. You can get out of the mask mandate if your business requires proof of vaccination to enter. Get the full scoop. Well, the scoop for now.
