It seems like all of the holidays this year should be or have been postponed; St Patricks Day and Easter pretty much came and went without a whisper, let alone their normally mighty roar. Well, this year, enlight of all the upheaval do to COVID 19, Pride Portland is pushing back it's celebrations until august. So to be clear we will not miss the big party this year, we will have it at a later date and time! Yes, it sucks, but safety first.

"[T]he health and safety of our volunteers and community are most important to us and have guided our decision. ... We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, and we certainly hope to see you in August." The organization Pride Portland!, said in a press release.

It's a good message of safety and unity, so the community knows they have not been forgotten about and that there is something to look forward too in the late summer. Other festivals in the past few weeks have also announced cancellations or postponements including, The Maine Lobster Fest, the Acton Fair, and Street Eats & Beats.

Needless to say, I am bummed but not surprised. What event were you looking forward to this summer?
