So you're going to take the plunge. You met the person you want spend the rest of your life with. You're also superstitious. Here are 5 wedding superstitions that you'll want to keep in mind when planning your big day. 

1. Rain On Your Wedding Day

According to ThePinkBride.com, rain on your wedding day is considered good or bad luck depending on who you talk to. The good luck camp says that rain on your wedding day is good luck because it symbolizes the last tears that the bride will shed for the rest of her life. Yeah right.

The bad luck side goes completely in the other direction saying that rain on your wedding day is bad luck because it represents the number of tears the bride will shed during her marriage. You better hope it's not a torrential downpour.

2. Unlucky Day To Get Married

TheKnot.com says that according to English folklore, Saturday is the unluckiest day to get married. No one seems to care though. Saturday is the most popular day to get married, because who wants to get married on a Monday?

3. Spiders Are Good Luck

The English believe a spider found in a wedding dress means good luck. Sure it is, if the bride doesn't run away screaming.

4. Breaking Glass

CNN.com says that in Italy, newlyweds smash a vase or glass at their wedding. However many pieces the glassware breaks into are how many years they'll be happily married. So, when a glass is smashed after the wedding, does that mean that it's the it's the beginning of the end?

5. Using Your Married Name Before the Wedding

It's thought that if the bride writes out her married name or monogram before she's actually married that the wedding will not take place. Maybe taking that new signature for a test drive before you buy isn't the best idea.
