Remember Disney’s Halloweentown? IT’S REAL

Each year, a town in Oregon transforms their streets into the set of Disney Channel Original Movie Halloweentown. Why? Because it was filmed there. On October 10th, they're inviting a Halloweentown VIP to be the Master of Ceremonies at the Lighting of The Great Pumpkin. You won't believe who it is.

Remember Halloweentown? OF COURSE YOU DO. It was the best Disney Channel Original Movie to ever grace our televisions (other than maybe Smart House, but that's for another blog).

St. Helens, Oregon is a big fan of Halloweentown, too, because the movie was filmed there in 90s. Every year the town transforms back into the spooky setting of the movie for their Spirit of Halloweentown event. Jack-o'-lanterns fill plazas and spirited shop owners line their shelves with costumes and host tarot card readings, face painting, and other spooky activities.

This year, St. Helens is really pulling out all the stops for the Spirit of Halloweentown event. The Halloween festivities kick off on October 10th with the Lighting of The Great Pumpkin (just like in the movie) and this year MARNIE PIPER HERSELF WILL BE THERE. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell, but the original starring actress Kimberly J. Brown will don her original Marnie Piper costume and help light The Great Pumpkin.
