Point of view, you just moved to Westbrook, Maine and you were excited about these 3 highly recommended restaurants but they close their doors before you can try them.

It's funny, for a while there I thought the only city that was impacted by covid closures was Portland, but that's not the case.

Here are a few of the most popular restaurants in Westbrook that feel like one day we woke up and they randomly vanished.

Frog & Turtle Gastro Pub

This one just straight up sucks. I've always heard about the upstairs deck on this place but never really found myself out in Westbrook to try it until I moved there.

Now that I'm here, with my lucky it closes down and now I'm having serious summer cocktail hour on the deck type of  fomo. I think this closure took everybody by surprise.

Taco Trio Re-Opening South Portland

Dang. Taco trio has some of the best tacos I've had in a while which is always the case with mom and pop shops.

Taco trio had two infamous locations, one in Westbrook that has since closed after covid and one in South Portland. Here's some exciting news though- they're re-opening South Portland's location!

Richie Ribeye Closed Westbrook

Most Westbrook locals would agree that this was one of their favorite sub shops in the city. In January they made a tough social media post announcing their closure and I don't think I saw one person in the comment section who wasn't upset about it.

Overall, restaurant closings have absolutely been sad lately in Maine, but it also opens more opportunity for new restaurants to get attached to! Who says change has to be a bad thing? Is there any other closures you wish would come back lately?
