Over 20 kids and their families with developmental disabilities will be the guests of honor at a special celebration sponsored by the Robbie Foundation.

This is Saturday, May 19th at 11am at the Morrison Center in Scarborough, on Chamberlin Road. I'll be there as the emcee. I am honored to help this amazing organization.

The mission of the Robbie Foundation is to provide children with developmental disabilities through Maine, adaptive equipment, therapy treatments and other services that are not covered by insurance. At the celebration the foundation will give away numerous items, ranging from an adaptive tricycles, ipads, surveillance cameras, sensory items and therapy treatment.

The recipients come from across the state from southern Maine to north of Bangor. They range in age from two years old to 18 and their disabilities include autism, neurological disorders to cerebral palsy.

The foundation awards recipients every three months through an application process which includes letters of recommendations from therapists, doctors and teachers. This quarter the foundation received requests that totaled more than 47-thousand dollars.  The foundation will award 10-thousand dollars worth at this celebration!

The foundation has donated more the 250-thousand dollars worth of equipment, treatments and services over the past six years thanks to the hard work of volunteers, businesses and foundations.

Congratulations Robbie Foundation - Can't wait to celebrate with you!
