Falmouth residents have been clamoring to find out what the heck is coming to Route One?

Two four-story buildings got approval. The first will house a Chase Bank and an 'unidentified restaurant' according to a Press Herald article from February of this year. Scuttle is that that restaurant will be a Chipotle. Oh, that's gonna be a game-changer. Remember when Chipotle opened up a drive-thru in Auburn? It was at one point 42 cars deep. I think Falmouth could rival that madness. This is the Chase Bank - and possibly Chipotle building.

But wait...there's more.

On the other side of Shaw's parking lot on Route one in Falmouth near the Bucknam Road intersection, is another four-story building. The rumor for that is another restaurant along with other businesses. The rumor mill doesn't have a name for the restaurant, just who will own it. Ed Manganello, the owner of The Royal River Grill House in Yarmouth and The Tuscan Bistro in Freeport, and of course the Tuscan Table in South Portland. All amazing restaurants that Falmouth would be lucky to have.

Are the rumors true? Who knows. But the rumors are getting passed around more and more by more and more people. The buildings are controversial. Change is hard. Do you know what makes change easier? A good meal. I've got my fingers crossed that at least one of these rumors is true!
