There has been a consistent run of Maine Jeopardy! contestants over the past four years. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Jeopardy! featured a contestant from Maine, and 2022 keeps that streak running on Friday when a woman from Saco faces off with two other contestants to take on the Jeopardy! board.

In 2019, Jessica Garsed of Augusta was a three-time champion taking home $53,199.

In 2020, Dennis Coffey from Old Orchard Beach was also a three-time champion taking home $52,203.

In 2021, Susan McMillan was a one-day champion winning $36,600, which is a very respectful one-day win.

Now, in 2022, it's Karla Fossett's turn to take on Jeopardy! when she appears on Friday's episode, seen here in Maine on WMTW 8 at 7:30 p.m.

According to an interview on News Center Maine's 207, Karla said she took the Jeopardy! test and submitted it, patiently waiting for a response. Jeopardy! will not contact you unless they want you as a contestant, and after 10 months of waiting, she finally got the call.

We won't know anything about the results until we watch her appearance on Friday, but she's in good company with the other three Mainers that appeared on Jeopardy before her. All three were at least a one-day champion.

The one thing we do know is that the host for Karla's run on Jeopardy! was Ken Jennings, one of the two rotating hosts that succeeded the legendary and sorely missed Alex Trebek. Mayim Bialik is the other rotating host who also hosts any primetime specials that Jeopardy! airs.

Good luck Karla, even though you already know how you did. Find out for yourself how she did Friday at 7:30 p.m. on WMTW 8.
