Selena Gomez Says She’s ‘Nervous’ About Her New Album
Selena Gomez has been working hard on new music, but she's "nervous" to release it.
The pop star did an Instagram Live on Tuesday, during which she was asked about the album, according to ET Online. Gomez, 26, said the record is on its way. She revealed to fans watching that she was entering into a stage in the creative process where she had to make some "crucial" choices. Gomez also made a major revelation about when the album is going to be released.
"I'm just nervous about it, honestly," she said in the Instagram Live session. "'Cause I feel like the next few choices that I'm gonna make are very crucial. So I'm trying to be really, really diligent and just patient with everything...the album is coming very soon."
The news comes days after Gomez posted the music video for her collaboration with Benny Blanco, Tainy and J Balvin. The song, "I Can't Get Enough," is the latest fans have heard from her musically.
Gomez's upcoming album will be her first since she underwent a kidney transplant in 2017. Few details about the project are available. Fans don't know what it will be called or how long it'll be. The album may touch on some of what Gomez has gone through as of late. Early this month, a source told ET Online, "2019 is going to be a big year for Selena and her career. Selena is in a really good place."
"Selena is working out a lot, taking different workout classes and hiking. She has also been spending time with her close friends, most who aren't in the Hollywood scene," the insider added. "Selena does a good job of hanging out with people who aren't in Hollywood — it's always been her thing. She has famous friends, but the friends that keep her grounded have been around forever and Selena can be her true self [around them]."
Perhaps some of that energy will come out in her music. Fans will just have to wait and see as Gomez starts rolling out bits and pieces of the album.
