Thank You For Being the Best Neighbor in Portland, Maine for Nearly 9 Years
Sisters Gourmet Deli in Portland, Maine is closing its doors forever on Monday, September 30.
After almost 9 years in the heart of Portland (and a walk away from my job) Sisters Gourmet Deli is leaving Portland. Monday, September 30 is their last day. They will stay open until they are sold out of inventory. But all is not lost for this amazing little sandwich slice of heaven.
They announced on Facebook why they are closing, and the reason isn't as dire as we've gotten used to. Part of the post reads,
The truth is, we've outgrown this beautiful little spot, and Bath has very much stolen our hearts. My husband Nick and I have been operating at full throttle for some time now and it's time for us to make a smart choice by concentrating all of our efforts in Bath.

I'm really happy for Michaela and everyone at Sisters for crushing it and wanting to concentrate on one location. Will I miss them? Does a bear...well, you know - yes! They were more than just a sandwich shop. They were our friends and neighbors. I only went to meetings that were catered with Sisters' sandwiches. You know that people will long for the Macintuscan or Fredge or Caprese.
I taught Michaela of Sisters Gourmet Deli in Portland, Maine how to cut oranges
When I was on our sister station Q97.9, I remember talking about the proper way to cut an orange. I influenced our friends over at Sisters who were preparing fruit platters.
If you crave a Sisters Gourmet Deli sandwich, they are still doing catering, even in Portland from the Bath location. And drive up to Bath...the food is that good. We will miss you in Portland, and I wish you fantastic success in Bath, Maine.
