An Ed Tech is organizing a snack drive in Lisbon to make sure students don't show up to school without snacks and go hungry.

Sondra Smith has put together the snack drive planned for February 16 to 22 with Lisbon businesses serving as drop off points. "Our teachers buy a lot of extra snacks for their classrooms to make sure kids who show up without snacks every day don’t go hungry," Smith said. "I want to help them out by taking that burden off their shoulders."

Alma Leas Dance Studio at 28 Moody Road in Lisbon is serving a drop off point the week of February 10 since the studio will be closed next week. During the week of February 16 donations can be dropped off at these Lisbon businesses.

  • Food City (Lisbon Falls location)
  • Family Dollar (next to McDonald's)
  • Sippy Cup Consignment
  • The Hair Loft
  • Eastcraeft
  • Essentially Balanced Massage

Perfect snacks for the kids are things like crackers, pretzels, goldfish, animal crackers, chips, cereal bars, Fig Newtons, granola bars, puddings, applesauce cups, and fruit snacks.

If you can't get out to pick up snacks, The Hair Loft is willing to accept donations bought on Amazon that are mailed directly to them at 700 Lisbon Street, Lisbon Falls ME 04252.
