WATCH: New Trailer for Prequel to Stephen King’s IT Set in 1962 Maine
New nightmare material coming this fall from the scariest Mainer ever - Stephen King.
'It: Welcome to Derry' is the prequel TV show for Stephen King’s 'It'. HBO (formerly HBO Max) released a new trailer for the series for the fall of 2025. The show centers on the origins of the reason why people are afraid of clowns, Pennywise the Clown.
Whatever you do, don't go to Derry, Maine!
The Verge broke down the story of the prequel. An African American family moves into Derry, Maine, where they get a pretty standoffish welcome from all the white folks in town. But kids are great, and the family's kid makes friends with other local kids, and they start noticing strange happenings. That's when they start investigating why kids in the town go missing.

Pennywise returns to Derry, Maine, to scare the crap out of us
Bill Skarsgard* returns as Pennywise in the new 'IT' set in Derry, Maine, in 1962. *SIDENOTE: How many Skarsgards are there? Stellan, Alexander, Gustaf, Bill, Valter, and Ossian. While Sam Skarsgård is a doctor and Eija Skarsgård was a model for a time, the other siblings (including Stellan) are involved in film or television.
If you are a fan of Stephen King and the scary clown with a red balloon, you may want to get a subscription to HBO for the fall of 2025. I cannot do it; I would stop sleeping immediately and have to sleep with a light on.
Just seeing a picture of that scary ass clown freaks me out!
