Students Surprise Janitor With Trip to Italy to See Deployed Son
When the school year ends, students usually start thinking about how they can spend their summer vacation. Well, some high schoolers decided to focus on how someone very needy could spend it.
Students at Kentucky's Anderson County High School raised $1,900 to send school janitor Rickey Spaulding to Italy where his son is stationed. Spaulding hasn't seen his son in over a year and has yet to meet his grandson.
Earlier this week, the school arranged a pep rally where they surprised Spaulding with the gift.
Spaulding was understandably touched by the students' gesture. “Words can’t describe the joy that I feel right now," he said.
